Schedule of events

  • Please plan to arrive in time to join the group at 5 pm for a meet and greet gathering. Dinner will be served at approximately 6 pm.
  • See the general agenda in this document for a more detailed schedule.
  • Participants are expected to share all meals together.
  • Typically there are one or two evenings of group work or facilitation and a couple of evenings of working with your Life Planning partner.

Accommodations/Meals

  • Kinder Institute will make room arrangements for participants traveling alone unless you choose to make your own (please let us know) or if you are traveling with others. If you are bringing a partner and/or family you will be responsible for securing your own accommodations.
  • Meals will be at the Kinder residence; there will be a charge of approximately $60 per day for three meals. Meals are of the highest quality using fresh and local ingredients.
  • If you have provided a credit/debit card we will bill your room and meals charges, otherwise you will be invoiced.

Driving Directions

It is a 2-3 hour scenic drive from the airport to Hana. The road is challenging and should only be driven during daylight hours. Directions to the Kinder residence will be provided closer to the event.

Preparation

5-Day Life Planning Training

 PREPARATION: Please complete as much as you can of the following items:

  • Read Kinder’s textbook on Life Planning called Lighting the Torch, available through Kinder Institute upon registration.
  • Re-read Seven Stages of Money Maturity; or, if you’re pressed for time, focus particularly on Chapter 7 “Understanding: The Deep Heart’s Core”.  Both books are available at amazon.com.
  • Please prepare a net worth statement and personal budget and bring it with you.
  • Before the training please complete the following exercises on the Kinder Institute’s www.lifeplanningforyou.com website. Then print a PDF of your completed worksheets and bring to the training. You will be using these exercises throughout the training. 
  • Go to www.lifeplanningforyou.com and register to create an account.
  • Click on the link in the upper right-hand corner “Click to log in or register” and follow the registration process.
  • Once you have registered complete pages 1-9 of the EVOKE Wizard and pages 1-9 of the Ideal Schedule Wizard. You can also use the menu to navigate to the following pages:
    1. EVOKE > Vision > The Three Questions
    2. EVOKE > Vision > Heart’s Core Grid
    3. EVOKE > Vision > Goals For Your Life
    4. Resources > Ideal Schedule – Please complete: Ideal Day, Week & Year and Current Day, Week & Year
  • Print out your exercises using the PDF Tool on the Summary pages for each set of exercises below
    1. EVOKE > Summary > click the PDF Button “Create PDF to Print or Email”
    2. Resources > Ideal Schedule > Summary > click the PDF Button “Create PDF to Print or Email”
    3. When PDF dialogue box opens click Open
    4. Once the PDF file opens click File > Print to print a copy to bring to the training. If you would like to save the PDF for your records click File > Save As
    5. If you want to make edits to your EVOKE Worksheets simply login, make your edits and then use the Summary > Print PDF button to print out your worksheets again.

Note:  Most evenings there will be homework/action plans, work in pairs, or an evening session.
