About My Practice
Legacy Consulting Group's mission is to help our clients "Bring Their Wealth to Life." Founded in 1997 by Roger Shake and Steve Wachs, the firm currently works with 160 select families to help them define, articulate and move toward "living an inspired life." Our Financial Life Planning process allows clients get to the core of what truly matters and provides motivation for them to live out their aspirational life.
About
Before joining LCG, I worked as a financial planner in a range of small and mid-sized financial advisory firms. This included running my own RIA with a focus on life planning for Gen X and Y clients, helping them navigate the financial challenges faced by young professionals. With my unique background and perspective, I'm constantly looking to adapt to the challenges of today, while keeping an eye on the ever-changing landscape of the future. I love helping clients build and plan a vision for their future, while tackling the obstacles that pop up along the way.
Prior to becoming a financial planner, I spent nearly a decade in the U.S. Navy as a military intelligence analyst, specializing in counter-terrorism operations. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Certificate in Work and Organizational Psychology, and a minor in Financial Planning. I'm an active supporter of Texas A&M University’s Financial Planning program, mentoring our next generation of financial planners. In October 2024, I became an inaugural committee member of the Texas A&M Financial Planning Program’s Former Student Advisory Board.
I'm currently combining my passion for helping people achieve a meaningful life through personal finance with my curiosity around human behavior and decision making by pursuing graduate studies in Financial Psychology and Behavioral Finance at Creighton University.
I spend most of my free time with my wife Samantha, our daughter Tabitha, and our large Giant Schnauzer/Poodle named Comanche. I also train in Muay Thai kickboxing, woodworking, and enjoy driving off-road on 4×4 trails.
Ideal Clients
I work primarily with high-income Gen X/Y professionals and their families. Typically, clients are contemplating or experiencing a significant life transition and our Financial Life Planning process provides the time and space for reflection and introspection about what really matters.
